The four boys from Northam have had a busy year this year, already supporting the likes of Shonen Knife and Ben Kweller. Watching their shows is electrifying and raucous, with whirling bodies flying all over the stage, but does their energy translate on record?
It was with some trepidation that I slotted this EP into the CD player - and thankfully I can say that yes, this EP captures their energy perfectly.
The band shows that they are not afraid of being in-your-face, with five tracks of pure rock. Stand-out track Cup Of Coffee flies at you like a bullet, daring to throw you out of the chair to thrash around the room, while Like a Sunday Morning shows a more reflective side of the band. Title track Ragdoll kicks out the jams with a savage kick drum and an insistent, driving bass line.
Overall, a highly-recommended release.
