i'm currently listening to angelo badalamenti's 'a very long engagement' score on repeat and it is killing me.

inspired me to bust out my lost highway and twin peaks soundtracks... brilliant stuff

as audrey horne would say, "i love this music. isn't it too dreamy?"

This afternoon: The Killjoys. 'A Million Suns' (album) and 'Love And Uncertainty' (single). Ahhh... so nice, just like the weather. Smiley

The Plums - 'Gun'. It's from about 1994, and features the singer from Deadstar in a band which isn't boring commercial rock. Nice. Smiley

Regurgitator - Jingles (best-of). In particular, 'Miffy's Simplicity'... that works great for getting that damn whistling song out of my head. Smiley

Some song by the Bank Holidays, that has the line '... many great prizes...' in the chorus. RTR have been playing it a bit lately, and goddamnit it's getting under my skin, in a good way.

Also the one that goes 'I'm going down to buy myself candy... (she's going down to buy herself candy...)', also care of being flogged on RTR in the mid-mornings. The host of Morning Mag today played that one just after the 11am news, and 'I Want Candy' from the 80's just before it, and she was so pleased about that clever juxtapositioning she just had to tell everybody about it. :Smiley

Currently humming 'The Boys Light Up' by Aussie Crawl. Not the greatest song ever, I'll admit, but at least it's better than 'Reckless'. Now that one was a piece of shit.

It's official. Your musical credibility and opinion value has a rating of zero.

Cool

Oh, I wasn't attacking him for liking Aussie Crawl, but to say Reckless is a 'piece of shit' is an absolute disgrace. It's one of the greatest Australian songs ever written. I'll never forget, the first time I saw it, was on Countdown. I was awestruck.
