The 2010 WAMi Festival has kicked off, here is what's happening!

Ellington Jazz Club, Northbridge - 8pm

A pop-up local music shop to promote Perth’s hardworking independent labels. The shop also features the Takeaway Tunes Recording Studio, where we bands record tracks for streaming on the LIMV website and via RTRFM. Recording from 8-9pm tonight is ‘Eleventh He Reaches London’.

Thursday 20 May

2010 WAMi Awards, presented by City of Perth
Capitol, Perth – 7.30pm
The WA music industry’s night of nights, featuring performances from Sugar Army, Will Stoker and the Embers, The Brow Horn Orchestra, Black Poet & Hayley Beth. Hosted by triple j’s ‘The Doctor’ and RTR FM’s Peter Barr.

Kiss My Camera 2010: A Photographic Showcase of WA’s Musical Moments
The Western Australian Museum – Perth (Perth Cultural Centre), 20 May – 12 July.
Check out 48 music photographs by WA photographers. Over 60 000 people visited Kiss My Camera in 2009. Open daily from 9.30-5pm (except Wednesdays).
Presented by WAM and The Western Australian Museum, with support from X-Press and Sony Music. 

WAM Indigenous Roundtable and Too Solid acoustic performances.
