How does it feel to know that the Malaysian Prime Minister's wife is receiving an honourary doctorate from Curtin University? Seems rather fishy. What possibly could the Malaysian PM's wife contributed, especially in the Australian public scope, to be bestow upon with a doctorate? Not even sure what would this doctorate be. This is coming from a lady that said she used her savings since she was little to purchase approximately an AUD 8 million dollar ring? WTF?!?

Sounds like good publicity to get more Malaysian students to Curtin, who play a big part in subsidising tertiary education of the rest of us... so I'm not complaining.

Possibly Curtin/ex-Curtin folks might be interested to know. Especially one could argue that merely handling out honorary doctorates to someone involved with many controversies. Also, AFAIK, Malaysians make up the second largest nationality of Curtin students. This matter would perhaps tarnish Curtin's reputation amongst Malaysians, to the extent of a substantial reduce in Malaysian student intake. Curtin=no intake=no money...
