Yep,

1) Dedicated and know what they are wanting to do with their music and have a clear idea of what they are wanting to achieve as a band

2) Will be willing to work hard!

3) Get to gigs on time and rehearsals

4) Sound good as a band musically and the potential Manager likes their music and is passionate about the band and their music aswell as they are putting in a lot of time and effort to get the band moving forward.

cheers

Dear Julie-Ann

Our manager is hard to get hold of. He never replies to my emails. When he does he puts down the other band members to me. He's evasive and when we ask him about his plans for our band, he is vague. Once someone told us he spent our grant money for recording and touring on drugs.

Is this a clever marketing ploy?

Thanks,

Fromagezor.

You know, like an advice person. Like Dolly Doctor.

But for bands, not awkward teenage girls.

No drug habits or mental illness is a plus too...
Tell that to the Bipolar Bears.

^_^

I think what he meant by that is: generally good managers are looking for people who at least usually make it on time to shit, and don't have endless justifications for 'why shit never got dunn'.

Nah, I think he actually meant no drug habits or mental illness.

Self explanatory advice? Put in that context, that would make it really bad, uninformed advice. Being far too general to be of any real use in this thread.

I doubt too many people here (including those affected themselves) can even recognise the difference between bona-fide personality aspects and real behavioral symptoms of an actual illness, habit or disorder.

I think it needs to be said at this point: that most metal illnesses can be managed so as not to disrupt routines or one's ability to conduct themselves competentaly in social/work environments.
Really shit advice without context.

If my example doesn't relate to symptoms that Heath is supposedly referring to, could you provide a better example Joel?
