... or Hottest 100 votes, if you like (though many of my votes will obviously never make it).

Firstly, I accept that I didn't keep up with new music very well this year (as with last year and the year before that and so on).

My picks, in short ...

Abbe May - Design Desire
Ben Folds - Get Sleazy (Ke$ha cover)
Emperors - Plastic Guns
Radiohead - Give up the Ghost
San Cisco - Golden Revolver
Simone & Girlfunkle - Heart Goes Pitter Patter
The Gizzards - I Can Haz Cheezburger
Them Swoops - Too Fast For Love
Foxx on Fire - March into the Sun

In full ...

At $1.04 to win, I think it's pretty obvious

Speaking of THAT song. Has everyone this cover of it?

Pretty clever. If you can handle listening to the song again, give it a look.

That "up, down, C'MAHN... MORE ENERGY!" song has to be up there - the sort of track that really stands the test of time.

I wonder if the new Unearthed online radio will make an impact on getting any smaller bands into the 100? I heard at an industry seminar years ago that big record companies budget for teams of people to make hundreds of fake votes, because this thing sells mega records

Can understand that - if tracks in the top 20 aren't already getting high commercial rotation, they usually are following the countdown.

Yep I should have said 1000's not hundreds of votes though. It's a good investment, people lap it up like hot cakes

Never. This thread is reserved for people who want to talk about Fave Songs 2011. If you can't accept that and want to bring in your "of"s like a high and mighty of-laden carrier pigeon, than I suggest you leave immediately.

Captain Industry. Good name for a Captain Planet villain. I guess it'd be pretty much the same as Captain Pollution. Maybe they could fight along side each other.
