After three weeks of heats at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre, the final bands have been chosen to battle it out at the 25th Gozzy Rock final, this Saturday 25 February 2012.
Selecting eight bands proved difficult for this year's judges, with all competing bands showing incredible talent.
The eight bands to make it though to the final include Prescient, Smooth Intentions, Silver Grenade, Twisted Affection, Violet Scene, The Long March, Hey Hurricane and Blind Highway.
City of Gosnells Mayor Dave Griffiths encouraged residents of all ages to head down to the Gozzy Rock final to support the local music industry and check out the talent.
"Over its 25 years, Gozzy Rock has become well known for recognising home grown talent and I believe this year is no exception," Mayor Dave Griffiths said.
Perth’s Abbe May will headline, with support bands including 44th Sunset, Blazin’ Entrails, Gombo, Paltiva, Stop Motion and the Takeover. The eight competing bands will also fight it out as part of the 2012 Gozzy Rock competition.
Along with 10 hours of non-stop music there will also be a heap of free festival activities, including skate demos, temporary tattoos, a roaming circus, rides, giveaways plus a visit from the CasaNovas.
Gozzy Rock kicks off at 11am at Centennial Pioneer Park, Federation Parade in Gosnells.
Gozzy Rock is drug, alcohol and smoke free event. For more information call 9397 3132 or visit www.gosnells.wa.gov.au
