Guns N' Roses in Perth

...

I don't think Perth is a big enough place to support Axl's ego.
Seriously, buildings are going down.

The One Thousand Years ROCK & ROLL CIRCUS!

One Thousand Years have completed their debut EP Chateau de la Spaceman and to celebrate they have planned a launch party ~ ROCK & ROLL CIRCUS ~ on Saturday 25th September at the Norfolk Basement, Fremantle. ROCK & ROLL CIRCUS will feature a plethora of rockin', rollin' and freaky entertainment including The Smiling Assassins, Stillfire, sword swallower Matty Blade and of course One Thousand Years. The launch is proudly sponsored by Get Lucky Clothing Fremantle who have provided some drool worthy door prizes which will be drawn on the night by the marvellous Ring Master S. William Poulton. Entry is $10 and will include a copy of the EP.

One Thousand Years are a hard blues band from Fremantle, WA and are fresh from the finals of the 2010 Next Big Thing Competition. Their live shows have recently received very positive reviews; “not only energy and presence to burn, but are drumskin-tight on stage”, “They served up a heavy, blues-infused rock set that sounded like it could have been released in 1972.” Their debut EP has also garnered attention including being awarded The Drum Media single of the week; “There is a scene starting to emerge for hair-related music in this city at the moment. The shows are fun to get drunk at, but One Thousand Years are the first act to come up with a memorable CD”.

Matty Blade is the self-proclaimed “King of the Carnies” and the current Guinness World Record holder for Multiple Swords Swallowed (21 swords). Matty swallowed his first sword professionally 16 years ago after being taught by a native American and has since dazzled millions of people worldwide with his high energy interactive performances.

Stillfire are a burning fire of rock‘n’roll that has had crowds moving all over Perth for the past year or so with their down and dirty bluesy rock. Having released the soaring single “Falling Down” last year and supported Jeff Martin, The Screaming Jets and The Choirboys, Stillfire are well on their way to making a name for themselves. “All skinny jeans, open shirts and sideburns Stillfire’s vocalist Gabriel Lee comes off like a twisted love child of Lemmy and Josh Homme, Lurching from gravel chewing shouts to melodious blues strains.”

The Smiling Assassins are a hard riffing, soulfully funky rock beast who have recently released a kickin’ EP entitled “Caecus”. They have attracted a strong following in Perth as their live shows are powerful and memorable. “From power guitar driven rock n roll to powerful ballads and everything in between, The Smiling Assassins proved that they could do it.”
